About the department
The department of B. Voc in Data Analytics & Machine Learning was established in the year 2020 which is focused on providing adequate skills for a candidate to have the relevant skills relating to the profession. It aims to train students to highly skilled, competent and well-experienced data analyst with organized, enthusiastic and focused approach to work seeks to establish a career with a company desirous of building a solid team of analysts for business development and strategy design purposes. Also, the department boasts a rich knowledge pool of faculty and has modern facilities for teaching, learning and research.
B. Voc or Bachelor of Vocational studies or simply Bachelor of Vocation is a new ages method of education. It is a 3-year undergraduate course to improve the skills and employability of the candidates. This type of course not only concentrate on the theoretical knowledge of the candidates, but also focusses to sharpen the skills and expertise of the candidates through its practical way of training. The University Grants Commission (UGC), which comes under the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), Government of India, launched the B. Voc. Program in February 2014 to offer NSQF- aligned vocational courses as part of college or university education.
The offered vocational program in Data Analytics & Machine Learning offers a high-level training in Data Science concepts like Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, etc. The program covers industry-relevant and applied topics from Mathematics, Statistics, Information Science and Computer Science. Training is delivered through application focused lectures, hands on practical sessions of the theoretical concepts using real life datasets, report writing and project supervision. The domain of applications of Data Science is rapidly expanding and there are enormous opportunities for B.Voc. Data Analytics & Machine Learning graduates in all these fields.
To ensure that students are up-to-date with trends and changes, the department rhythmically conducts workshops on the latest technology like Machine learning, Data Analytics, Big Data, Natural Language processing, Business Analytics for the students. The industrial alumni of the college will deliver lectures on latest topics periodically for updating the skill sets of the students.

Message from the HOD
Young Friends and Parents,
Heartiest greetings!
“The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity” – Douglas Horton
In lights of his words, I am delighted to welcome you all to the Department of B.Voc in Data Analytics & Machine Learning. We started our journey in the year of 2020, with the objective to train students to develop interdisciplinary skills and gain a deep understanding of technical and applied knowledge in data science and analytics.
Bachelor of vocation or B.Voc is an emerging programme in India that aims at providing adequate skills required for a particular trade to students. Vocational or skill-based education is becoming increasingly significant with time. The three-year undergraduate programme is different from traditional academic programmes as it focuses on application-based studies rather than theoretical knowledge. One of the biggest advantage of pursuing a B.Voc as compared to common degree courses is that a candidate has continued industry exposure and multiple exit points during the programme. Apart from this the work experience students got during the course increases their chances of getting a job.
Data science is a multi-disciplinary field that utilizes logical techniques, procedures, calculations and frameworks to separate information and bits of knowledge from organized and unstructured data. Data science is an idea to bind together Statistics, data investigation, Artificial Intelligence and their related techniques so as to understand and analyse the actual phenomena within the data. It utilizes procedures and hypotheses drawn from numerous fields inside the setting of Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Information science. Turing award winner Jim Gray envisioned Data science as a "fourth paradigm" of science. Data Science, as a field of study is making a boom all over the world. It is being applied on every aspects of life. Newer domains of applications are being found out. All these points out to the importance of getting knowledge in Data Science concepts for a job aspirant student.
In other words, data science is an umbrella term that encompasses data analytics, data mining, machine learning, and several other related disciplines. While a data scientist is expected to forecast the future based on past patterns, data analysts extract meaningful insights from various data sources. Data analysis is the future, and the future will demand skills for jobs as functional analysts, data engineers, data scientists, and advanced analysts. Growth in productivity will arise from better collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. With such a boom in the use of analytics, having the skills required to work with data isn't just valuable - it's all but a necessity. The importance of these skills is only going to become more important in the future as more industries and businesses jump onto the bandwagon.
Data Analytics experts are currently in high demand, especially with the opportunity to leverage high volume and variety of data, available in today’s digital world, to support business strategy, enhance customer experience, and, solve real-life problems in real-time.
It’s my ecstasy to serve as the Head of the Department of B.Voc in Data Analytics & Machine Learning. I invite you to join us and discover the fascinating world of data science and analytics in this vibrant institution by interacting with leading academics and professionals.
Thank you for visiting us.
